 | Shower: Taking cooler, shorter showers saves energy by reducing the amount of water your hot water heater has to warm up.

 | Fireplace: Close the chimney flue during the winter to your fireplace so that warm air doesn’t escape; and open your chimney flue in the summer so the warm air can get out.

 | Ceiling Fan: Ceiling fans can reduce the amount of air conditioning that your house needs during the summer; and during the winter ceiling fans can help push hot air down so you don’t have to use your heater as much.

 | Door: Close doors to rooms that are not in use and shut the vent in the room so that energy is not used to heat or cool a room that nobody is using.

 | Dryer: Don’t over dry your clothes and remember to clean the lint screen so that your dryer will use less energy.
